Utah skiing is for the purist and is all about powder skiing. The secret to Utah's unique snow, lies within the huge lake and its closeness to our mountain range. Storms suck up moisture as they pass over the Great Salt Lake and drop it on Salt Lake's Mountains just miles away. For those of you who don't like to share the Mountain, Alta is the ultimate skiers' mountain and along with Deer Valley is a Ski-only resort. Alta includes Nordic skiing; telemark workshops; and Snow Cat Skiing (in adjacent Grizzly Gulch.) Deer Valley has a reputation for high quality customer service and exceptional restaurants and accommodations.

500 inches of deep light powder every year, the best terrain in the world and plenty of steeps and terrain parks. Utah is the place for snowboarders. Brighton is considered the Snowboarders haven. Great night boarding and a plethora of tabletops, step-downs, jumps, hips, spines, fun boxes, and rails, enough to satisfy any level of expertise. Solitude is a local favorite with great backcountry boarding spots and excellent terrain. Snowboarding is not permitted at Alta or Deer Valley, but there are plenty of other mountains to spread the love. | |
