Working Collaboratively to Treat Coronary Artery Disease Our Interventional Team treats acute and chronic patients with coronary artery disease. Working collaboratively with preventive cardiology, we provide patient treatments minimizing heart damage from coronary artery disease. We provide pre-intervention assessment, post intervention/stent follow up, and medical management of patients. We have a multidiciplinary approach in the management of patients with vascular disease, working collaboratively with Preventive Cardiology, Interventional Radiology, Vascular Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery. | | | HOT TOPICSInterventional Cardiology is a dynamic area of cardiology with emerging tratments and products for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Recently, headlines have been about the safety of drug eluting stents. Also the treatment of migraines with PFO closure. Dr. Andrew Michaels, director of Interventional Cardiology at the University of Utah, makes this suggestion "Make sure you are getting your information from a credible source". He suggests searching sources such as www.pubmed.gov . He also suggests talking with your doctor. |

| PEOPLE AT THE HEART OF THE MATTER
Barbara Weese had a small stroke or TIA(transient ischemic attack) in 1999. She was worried, always waiting for the "next one". Hoping, if and when the next stroke happened, that it wouldn't be massive. She underwent a closure of her PFO, performed by Dr. Michaels. Read her story. |
