Research ProgramsResearch conducted by the faculty in cardiology can be divided into these broad areas: arrhythmias and sudden death, atherogenesis and coronary artery disease, heart failure and cardiac transplant immunology, interventional cardiology and molecular genetics of cardiac disease. The Cardiology division faculty collaborate with the Departments of Surgery, Human Genetics, Pathology, Medical Informatics, Bioengineering, Pharmacology and Toxicology, also the faculty in other Divisions of Internal Medicine. | Recent Publications Dr. Sheldon Litwin was Principal invesitgator on a study that was published in the November 2006 Journal Hypertension, titled Left Ventricular Hypertrophy in Severe Obesity, Interactions Among Blood Pressure, Nocturnal Hypoxemia, and Body Mass.
